Lesbian Pride Festival started out
in 1970 as an annual gay liberation
movement. The festival has grown and evolved into a huge
community celebration that includes live entertainment, special
events and parties. There is a wide diversity in exhibitors,
anything from the LA County Sheriff's department recruiting and
Whole Foods setting up a juice bar to Erotic city offering
playful B&D demos and displays of dungeon equipment.
AIDS Project Los Angeles AIDS Project

the lives of people affected by HIV disease.
BiNet LA BiNet LA is an educational, social and support organization for
bisexuals and bi-friendly people.
A Different Light Bookstore A Different Light provides the best in
Gay and Lesbian literature. The bookstore also offers poetry
readings and unique special events.
Equality California Equality California is dedicated to promoting dignity, safety
and equality for all of gay,
lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) Californians.
The Gay and Lesbian Adolescent Social Services The
Gay and Lesbian Adolescent
Social Services (G.L.A.S.S.) is a social service agency that
provides numerous outreach, residential and treatment services
to children and adolescents that are wards of the court or are
homeless, runaways, throwaways or engage in survival
prostitution or substance abuse and are at risk for HIV
infection.
The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation The
Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against
Defamation (GLAAD) is dedicated to promoting and ensuring fair,
accurate representation of people and events in the media as a
way to eliminate discrimination based on gender identity and
sexual orientation.The
Gay and Lesbian Sports Alliance
of Greater Los
Angeles offers resources for such
things as housing, and transportation. They also offer a 24-hour
hotline for people to get information on 30 Different sports in
the L.A. area.
The Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles The
Gay Men's Chorus of
Los Angeles
(GMCLA) has toured nationally and internationally, released nine
compact discs, and appeared with numerous stage, film, and
television celebrities. The Chorus performs year round at the
national landmark Alex Theater and offers several outreach
concerts to help build bridges between everyone in the community
by sharing their music.
GLBT Wedding Ceremonies Wedding ceremonies are offered that are religion-free,
dogma-free wedding ceremonies for GLBT couples in
Los Angeles,
Ventura and Santa Barbara counties.
The Great Outdoors - Los Angeles The Great Outdoors is a non-profit, all volunteer organization
providing outdoor social activities for the
gay and lesbian community. The Great
Outdoors boasts a membership of over 800 people, sponsoring
weekly hikes in Los
Angeles County, as well as overnight
and weekend excursions throughout the state.
The Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center The

Gay and Lesbian Center
offers many services including: youth programs and housing,
legal aid, education and computer training, medical care,
employment training and placement services, programs for
seniors, cultural arts, and extensive HIV/AIDS related services.
In addition, the organization houses one of the country's
largest HIV/AIDS drug-related pharmacies.

Lambda Legal Lambda Legal is a national organization committed to achieving
full recognition of the civil rights of lesbians,
gay men, bisexuals, the
transgendered, and people with HIV or AIDS through impact
litigation, education, and public policy work. Lambda has a
Los Angeles
Regional Center.Lambda Basketball League Lambda Basketball (LBA) gives
gay
and gay friendly basketball players
of all experience levels a place to play. LBA encourages unity
among all individuals, recognizing that each person is
different, with different abilities and different points of
view.
The LA Pool League The LA Pool League organizes and supervises eight ball
competition in a gay friendly
environment. The league sponsors fundraising competitions
throughout Southern California in support of such agencies as
APLA. The league sponsors two 10-week seasons in the spring and
fall, and hosts a number of social events each year.
LA Shanti LA Shanti is a non-profit volunteer organization that is
dedicated to empowering individuals affected by HIV, cancer, and
other life-threatening illnesses through emotional support,
prevention, and education services.
ONE Institute and Archives houses the world's largest research
library on Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual,
and Transgendered heritage and concerns. ONE is affiliated with
but not governed or funded by the University of Southern

PFLAG - Parents Families and Friends of Lesbians And Gays Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG), is
an international organization serving more than 75,000
households. This is the link to the Long Beach chapter that
provides a place where family and friends of lesbian and gays
can come to discuss issues of accepting and understanding the
gay children, siblings, and friends.
Planet Out Planet Out is a website dedicated to the
gay and lesbian queer community. It offers articles news and
information on many topics such as entertainment, money and
careers, health and fitness, families and
gay pride.
Rainbow Pride Youth Alliance Rainbow
Pride Youth Alliance (RPYA)
is a center for the Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual
and Transgender youth of the Inland Empire. They offer coming
out support groups, and Friday evening hang outs where youth can
play pool, dance to music, sit on the couches, eat food from the
snack bar and hang out with friends to talk.
